Member of Hamas’s Political Bureau, Salah al-Bardawil, announced that the conditions of the reconciliation agreement will apply to the West Bank as well as the Gaza Strip.

In a press conference following the announcement of the reconciliation agreement in Cairo, Al-Bardawil said that the issue of lifting the measures imposed on Gaza by PA President, Mahmoud Abbas, is in the hands of Fatah officials, indicating that this is not the demand of Hamas alone, but the demand of the Palestinian people as a whole.

The politburo member also pointed out that the nature of the first protocol signed is to implement the reconciliation agreement of 2011, which will be proceeded by an assessment meeting regarding the implementation of these understandings between Hamas and Fatah under the auspices of Egypt.

Bardawil pointed out that Egypt will invite the factions to meet early next month to discuss the formation of a unity government and the implementation of the other large files such as security and elections.
