The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas condemns in the strongest possible terms Papua New Guinea's decision to open an embassy in occupied Jerusalem.
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem said such move was an infringement upon the Palestinian people's rights and a blatant violation of international law and United Nations resolutions that recognise Jerusalem as a city under foreign occupation.
Calling on Papua New Guinean authorities to immediately backtrack on this reprehensible decision, Qasem reiterated that this unjustified action would not confer legitimacy upon the Israeli occupation of Jerusalem.
