The head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, phoned Sunday the Sudanese President, Omar Hassan Al Bashir , and briefed him with the latest developments of Palestinian reconciliation  and the Agreement signed in Cairo under the auspices of Egypt.

Haniyeh assured  the continuous  Sudanese efforts to achieve the Palestinian national unity since Khartoum dialogues in the 1990s in addition  to many successive attempts.   

He also congratulated Al Bashir on  the  lifting of the US  sanctions  considering it a step towards ending injustice against Sudan.

On his part, Al Bashir expressed his happiness and blessing for the Palestinian reconciliation and stated that agreement is for the sake of the Palestinians and Arabs; noting that  the Palestinian issue is the central cause  of the  Islamic nation.

He asserted the continuous Sudanese support for the Palestinian people and their unity.
