Head of Hamas’s Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, phoned Tunisian President, Béji Kaid Sibsi, Monday, and discussed the developments concerning the recent reconciliation agreement signed in Cairo.

Haniyeh, noted that the Tunisian experience was inspired by partnership and national consensus saying, “Tunisia has presented itself as a role model in the region, and now the Palestinian people are also in a new phase of consensus and we will make sure it succeeds”.

For his part, the Tunisian President praised the reconciliation agreement, saying it was a good start for the Palestinian cause.

He pointed out that the Tunisian people chose political pluralism, which will change the Palestinian situation - with the reached agreement - for the better, stressing Tunisia's readiness to provide all necessary support for the success of this Palestinian step.
