The head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh stated that the assassination attempt of Tawfiq Abu Nain, the General Commander of Internal Security Forces will only strengthen the power and the steadfastness of Hamas .  

This statement was made by Hanieyeh during the visit to Al Shifa Hospital to check on the health of Abu Naim after he survived a failed assassination attempt on Friday afternoon.

Haniyeh added, “It  is wrong  to believe that these crimes, whoever is behind them, can prevent us from moving ahead in the resistance path towards  liberation.”

He assured that this criminal attempt will not diminish our resolve to achieve the Palestinian national reconciliation.

Haniyeh affirmed  that Hamas is moving on to achieve reconciliation and to restore national unity.

He called on the Palestinian President, Mahamoud Abbas to accelerate the required implementations needed to fortify the homefront against anyone who dares to tamper with the internal security and our political plans.
