The head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh confirmed that the Israeli occupation shall have no future of the Palestinian land and that any deal that detracts from the rights of our people and our nation in Palestine is doomed to failure.
During a video call at the International Conference on the Union of Resistance Scholars in Beirut, Haniyeh stated Wednesday that the Balfour Declaration cannot change the facts of history and geography that prove our rights in our land.
He added, “The Palestinian issue will remain the fundamental issue of the Arab nation despite all dangers surrounding it”.
Haniyeh pointed out that Palestinian resistance has strengthened its capabilities and that Gaza has become the icon of resistance, recalling that three aggressions all failed to defeat it.
A national Strategy
Haniyeh called for a national strategy to confront the challenges and to re-adopt the choice of resistance in the path towards liberation. This strategy will also re-prioritize the Palestinian cause in its Arab and Islamic dimensions.
He asserted that the pillars of the strategy are resistance, unity, building bridges and strengthening the presence of Palestine in the international arena.
Resistance and reconciliation
Haniyeh affirmed that the choice of resistance is the most viable and the most strategic option needed to defeat the occupation. He added that the decision of reconciliation is irreversible and Hamas aims to build a true, unified and strong Palestinian structure. .
Haniyeh stressed that the Hamas will do everything necessary for the success of Palestinian reconciliation.
Haniyeh assured that Hamas is open to all components of the nation as well as Arab and Islamic countries. He affirmed that the Palestinian cause must remain seperated from any conflict in the region.
He said,“ During the past, we have sought to consolidate the theory of building bridges and strengthening relationships with all components of the nation. In the same context, Haniyeh prayed for stability in Syria hoping that it would reassume i its historic role towards Palestine. He also prayed for security in the Arab countries so they may stand in the face the Zionist plots”.
Haniyeh emphasized the need to strengthen the presence of the Palestinian cause in the international community explaining that Hamas respects unions and their activities that confront the Israeli Occupation in the International arena.
He called for reconstructing the Palestinian Liberation Organization and developing it to accommodate all Palestinian national factions to be the representative of the Palestinian people and for reaching a national and political program that combines the constants and the variables of the Palestinian cause.
He pointed out that the result of the negotiations was painful to the Palestinian people and to the status of the Palestinian cause.
Balfour Declaration
The head of the Political Bureau said that we stand in this position to mark Balfour Declaration to highlight two images ; the first one is the Western bias towards the Zionist project and the historical injustice practiced against our people; and the second image is the great shining picture of our people, our nation and the world’s free people who stand and support the Palestinian cause.
Haniyeh recalled the revolution of Al Buraq and Al Qassam and the contemporary Palestinian revolution led by the late President Yasser Arafat, Sheikh Ahmad Yassin and the martyrs. He stated that this history reflects a veryimportant message that our people have not surrendered, or recognized the Israeli occupation and have not given up their arms.
Our people
Haniyeh paid tribute to our people in the occupied West Bank who have fueled the intifada and to our people in the Occupied Territories in1948 who have remained steadfast.
He also extended his greetings to the Palestinians in diaspora and Lebanon camps who are suffering hard circumstances calling them to unite and to prevent infiltration of any alien ideas in our camps.
