The deputy head of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh congratulated on Saturday the Algerian president, Abdel Aziz Botafliqa over the anniversary of the eruption of the Algerian uprising against the French colonization In 1954.

In his letter, Haniyeh said that all Palestinians express their admiration to the exceptional sacrifices made by the Algerian people to extort their freedom from a bitter colonizer.

Haniyeh noted that the Palestinian people are  greatly inspired by the experience provided by the Algerian people during their strife towards  freedom, adding that the wonderful legacy left by the Algerian martyrs serves as a light to the Palestinian people during their own struggle to acquire their national rights.

 In his letter, Haniyeh also expressed gratitude to the positive and supportive Algerian stances toward the fair Palestinian cause.
