On the 1ooth anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, the head of Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh called for mount a lobby to pressure Britain to apologize over the colonial declaration and its destructive consequences upon the Palestinian people.
Haniyeh said in his speech before the audience in a local conference organized to mark the anniversary that the Palestinian people need to adopt a comprehensive strategy to push Britain to rectify its biased policies against the Palestinian people.
He added that it is totally erroneous to see Balfour Declaration as an inevitable destiny, stating that the Israeli Occupation has no legitimacy on any inch of Palestinian land.
The Palestinian Reconciliation:
Haniyeh said that Hamas is firm in adopting the Cairo accord that was signed in 2011 since it was agreed upon it after tremendous efforts and with a clear vision among all Palestinian factions.
He continued by saying that achieving the internal unity is an ultimate goal, and efforts are being made to set up a national strategy to unite all Palestinian people.
Core issues are yet to be discussed in the upcoming talks in Cairo, including: the PLO, forming a unity government, and the elections among others.
He concluded by saying that Hamas has accomplished the first steps of the reconciliation with transparency and a great sense of responsibility and without preconditions.
