The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, announced the final results of the investigation it conducted into the assassination of Mohammed Al-Zouari during a press conference held in the Lebanese capital on Thursday.

Member of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Muhammad Nazzal, said that the movement formed an investigation committee and began its work immediately following the assassination of Al-Zouari, a Tunisian engineer and pilot, in December 2016. 

Nazzal confirmed the conclusive results of the investigation saying, “The Israeli intelligence service, Mossad,  was clearly responsible for the assassination”.

In details, Nazzal said that the assassination took place in three stages, which began in 2015, with the complicity of individuals holding different nationalities from the European Union.

The Politburo member  stressed that the assassination was a clear violation of Tunisian sovereignty, noting that the Israeli occupation will not bat an eyelid when it comes to destabilizing a peaceful country.

He reiterated Hamas's commitment to the security of the Tunisian Republic as well as the security of any other Arab country.

Nazzal also confirmed that Hamas’s legal body will assess all possible options provided by the results of  the assassination report to confront the Israeli Occupation.

“The aim of this investigation was to find the criminals behind the assassination and provide justice to Al-Zouari, a proudly affiliated Hamas member”.
