The head of Hamas bureau, Ismail Haniyeh congratulated on Tuesday the Mauritanian president, Mohammed Weld Abdel Aziz on the occasion of his country's independence.

In his congratulation letter, Haniyeh said that martyrs' sacrifices are not to be forgotten  on this occasion as they are the ones who paved the way for the independence by sacrificing themselves

He added that the Mauritanian epics against the colonization serve as a beacon for the Palestinian people who still strive to extort independence.

He noted as well that the Palestinians are highly proud of the great connections with the Mauritanian people, hailing the firm Mauritanian stances regarding the fair Palestinian cause.
