Hamas has issued the following press release:

Though the unity government, headed by Rami Al Hamdallah,has taken responsibilities over all ministries in Gaza, it failed to make any effort to ease the tough reality imposed on Palestinians in Gaza. It even still imposes sanctions on the Gaza Strip and refuses to take any step to end the split and accomplish the reconciliation.

In the West Bank, the government has done nothing to defend the Palestinian citizens against the Israeli settler  harassments. It also has never taken any procedures to stop the settlement expansion across the West Bank and Jerusalem. On the contrary, it continues to pursue resistance fighters and put them behind bars.

In light of these policies, Jerusalem falls victim to the daily Israeli attempts to judaize  it as facts on ground are distorted and holy places are desecrated.

Based on this, we ask the unity government to fulfill its responsibilities and lift the sanctions, or resign and set up a national government.
