Meshal: Hamas turns its back to no one, and does not engage in axis gimmicks
Chairman of Hamas's Political Bureau Khaled Meshaal confirmed that Hamas delegation's visit to Saudi Arabia a few days ago was a step in the right direction.
Speaking in a social ceremony in Doha a few days ago, Meshaal said that Hamas would talk to all parties, Arab and Islamic, for the sake of Palestine and Jerusalem.
Meshaal slammed the defamation and rumor campaign which surrounded the visit, noting that Hamas turns its back to no one, and does not engage in axis gimmicks.
"Allah granted us the honor of visiting Saudi Arabia at the end of Ramadan and performing Omrah and Eid prayers at the Grand Mosque, and we opened a new page in the relationship with the leadership of the Kingdom," Meshaal said.
“Such defamation, bustle and false rumors do not harm us," Meshal said pointing out that the visit has annoyed and angered many.
He added that Hamas fights only on the land of Palestine and against the Israeli occupation, but, at the same time, lives the issues and concerns of the Arab and Muslim worlds.
Meshaal said that Hamas is not to be blamed for knocking the doors of Saudi Arabia, or any other Arab or Islamic doors.
"We do this to tell the Muslim Ummah that Palestine is your foremost responsibility, and that we are your first line of defense,” Meshal stated. “Together we can defeat the Zionists and the enemies of the Ummah." He added.
