In a call with the Egyptian Imam Ahmed Tebi, Ismail Haniyeh expressed thanks to him and the stances adopted by Al Azhar regarding the latest controversial decision taken by the American administration against Jerusalem.
Haniyeh said that Tebi's decision in which he refused a visit from the American vice president is highly welcomed and clearly expresses the great stances that have long been adopted by Al Azhar throughout the history.
From his side, Tebi reiterated Al Azhar's stance concerning Jerusalem as one of the central issues for all Muslims in the world, noting that he has discussed the latest developments in it with other Imams.
He concluded by saying that Al Azhar will call for an Islamic conference in Cairo and all Palestinian sides will be welcomed to attend.
