Head of Hamas’s political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, congratulated the Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on the occasion of his country's national day.

Haniyeh said in a congratulatory cable sent to the Emir of Qatar: "We are pleased in Hamas to convey to you the most sincere congratulations and  warm wishes on the occasion of the national day of Qatar."

He also wished the State of Qatar, its Government and people more successe and outstanding achievements.

"I express to you, on my behalf and on behalf of the brothers in Hamas, our great appreciation for your outstanding positions in supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle," Haniyeh also said.

Haniyeh expressed his deep pride in the bonds of brotherhood that bring together the Qatari and Palestinian people, and wished Qatar further progress and prosperity.
