The head of Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh hailed the supportive Qatari stances regarding the just Palestinian cause and backing the oppressed Palestinian people.

In his speech on Qatar's National Day, Haniyeh said in a festival held in Khan Younis, a southern city in the Gaza Strip, that Qatar maintains  a stalwart attitude towards the Palestinian cause and that Qatar deals with the international developments with wisdom.

He added that Qatar fulfills an inherited Arab and Islamic task by supporting the Palestinians, noting that Qatar does not back a specific Palestinian faction but the whole Palestinian people.

He noted as well that Qatar supported Gaza in its crisis in time when all other countries abandoned Gaza, calling to adopt the notion presented by Qatar in a previous Arab summit to support the Palestinians in Jerusalem.
