Head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Yahia Al-Sinwar, said that Hamas vies for a national unity to form a national cover through the formation of a new national council and an executive committee that represents the Palestinian people.
During a meeting for youth that was held in Gaza, Thursday, Al-Sinwar said that dialogue and persuasion can solve all obstacles facing the national reconciliation.
He stressed that the Palestinian people and factions have the strength and determination to repel Trump’s decision, noting that national consensus is important in shaping the nature of the battle for Jerusalem.
"We are with every alliance that serves our national cause and strengthens the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land, and we are required to gather our strength for that," he said.
He also paid tribute to the Palestinian people and the masses of the Arab, Islamic and the free nations of the world who stood up against Trump and defended Jerusalem.
He reiterated that Hamas is not seeking war, but if it was imposed, the movement will fight with all courage.
The Hamas leader also praised the martyr, Ibrahim Abu Thuraya, saying: “We must carry on the legacy of defiance, determination and dignity that was presented by Ibrahim, who, despite his disability, was able to stand in the face of Israeli crimes”.
He also honoured the model of courage and willpower that is being presented by Ahed Al- Tamimi, who represents the significant role Palestinian women are playing in this national struggle.
