Hussam Qassem, the spokesperson of Hamas issued the following:
The rapidly increasing pace of settlement activity in the West Bank and the announcement of increasing settlement expansion to construct thousands of new units reveals the magnitude and extent of the crime committed by the occupation with official support from the US administration.
The extremist Likud Party’s attempt to legislate a decision to annex the West Bank to ‘Israel’ confirms that Trump’s decision on Jerusalem enabled the occupation to implement its racist policy which aims to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
Hamas warns of the dangers of implementing the Israeli policy and assures that the continuation of the Palestinian Intifada and the escalation of resistance against the Israeli Occupation and settlers will foil all these Zionist agendas and will be a prelude to restoring all Palestinian lands.
Therefore, Hamas calls upon the Palestinian Authority to take a responsible decision to stop the settlement attack on the Palestinian land and the US bias towards ‘Israel’, to declare the abandonment of the settlement process, to stop the security collaboration, and to strengthen the Palestinian home front.
