The spokesperson of Hamas, Fawzi Barhoum issued the following:
The US President’s threats to cut off aid to UNRWA and the Palestinian Authority unless it recommences peace talks with the Israeli Occupation is a cheap political blackmail which reflects the American barbaric behavior in dealing with the just Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people.
Hamas calls upon the Palestinian parties to unite to confront these pressures and policies and not to succumb to them. It also calls for more Arab, Islamic and international positions to support the Palestinian rights against the American and the Israeli polices and for more decisions to pressure the US administration.
