Member of Hamas's Political Bureau Mousa Abu Marzook called on the Palestinian factions who signed the Cairo Agreement in 2011 to form a national unity government, confided in by the Palestinian Legislative Council “PLC” and approved by PA’s President Mahmoud Abbas.

Abu Marzouk stressed the need to recognize the legitimacy of Gaza Strip’s staff and their rights, stating that Hamas would not object to a scheduled accommodation of staff similar to the Swiss plan, provided that all staff, civilian and police, are included. He added that it is unfeasible to run ministries in Gaza with staff who are either not getting salaries or had been refraining from working for years.

Abu Marzouk stressed also the need to implement a comprehensive community reconciliation process, end internal tensions, find a permanent solution to Gaza power crisis, lift Gaza siege, operate crossings and Rafah airport and a seaport, and initiate reconstruction projects.

Abu Marzouk called on the provisional leading frame to meet in order to discuss the current situation, deeming it the only body that brings together all Palestinian active forces, including the PLO Executive Committee, the presidency of the Palestinian National Council and the secretaries-general of Palestinian factions not included in the PLO Executive Committee.
