The Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza Strip called the National Palestinian Council (NPC) , the legislative body of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), which is held on Sunday to take firm national decisions which rise to the seriousness of the Palestinian cause.

During a press conference Sunday morning, the factions reiterated their call upon the NPC to withdraw its recognition of Israel, to declare the end of the Oslo Agreement, to stop security collaboration and to stop pursuing and captivating resistance members in the West Bank,

They highlighted  the need to achieve Palestinian unity, and to implement the reconciliation according to the Cairo Agreement, to lift the punitive measures imposed against Gaza Strip and to stop political detention in the West Bank.

The factions stated that the Palestinian Authority leadership must stop the so- called peace process adding that seeking an alternative broker is elusive.

The factions also emphasized the urgency to prosecute before the ICC the Israeli occupation officials who committed crimes against the Palestinian people and their holy places. The factions also affirmed the necessity to adopt a new strategy based on adhering to the Palestinian fundamental issues and resistance.

For his part, the leader of Islamic Jihad movement, Ahmed Al Mudalal assured that the meeting of the NPC has come too late to confront the declaration of US President, Donald Trump on Jerusalem as the capital of the occupation state

He added that the meeting of the NPC should have been held in any Arab country to ensure wide and affective participation from all factions.

Al Mudalal pointed out convening NPC in the occupied lands limits the decision and the outputs of the meeting.

Moreover, the factions warned of the statements made by Yoav Mordechai in which he justified the heinous execution of the Palestinian people, especially the children and the people with special needs as in the case of  the martyr, Ibrahim Abu Thoraya who was murdered in late December.

They also denounced the statements made by the UN envoy to the Middle East, Nicolay Mladenov who described resistance as “ terrorist acts”. Such statements are considered a blatant bias towards the occupation and a flagrant violation of international laws Which guarantee resistance as a legitimate right to any people under occupation.

It is worth noting that Hamas had announced earlier that it will not participate in the meeting of  the NPC held in Ramallah pointing out that it will send a document to share its thoughts of what is required from the NPC in the current phase.
