In light of  Trump’s provocative decision on Jerusalem, the Palestinian reaction has to be as strong as the crime committed against Jerusalem and the Palestinian cause especially after the inadequate Islamic and Arab response.

In response to this serious development of declaring Jerusalem as the capital of the occupation state, Hamas had aimed to mobilize all official and popular Palestinian, Arab, Islamic and international efforts to foil this conspiracy and to stop the American crimes against our people and holy places.  

The first and foremost political and national step is to invite the leadership of Palestinian Liberation Organization(PLO) to  devise a national plan to confront the Israeli Occupation and the decision of the  US administration. This plan should be based on ending the Oslo Agreement due to its disastrous consequences, namely security collaboration and economic dependence. The plan should also work to stop the American decision, to expose the Israeli crimes and to mobilize the Islamic and Arab support needed to bolster the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in Gaza, West Bank and diaspora. It should also ensure the continuation of  the popular Intifada and to support the injured, the families of martyrs and detainees.

Protecting the Palestinian national project is a national and mutual mission which can be only achieved through political partnership, clarity and consensus in taking fateful decisions collectively without turning a blind eye to the needs of the Palestinian people and their factions.

Therefore, our boycott to the meetings of the NPC on 14-15 of January comes as a result of the current situation of the NPC which cannot lead to firm decisions that meet the aspirations of the Palestinian people and their national goals and will also fail to counter the American decision on Jerusalem. Unfortunately, the meetings aim to search for alternative ways to recover the so called “ peace process” which will serve as a cover to the occupation to liquidate the Palestinian cause and to kill the dreams of our people of obtaining freedom ,self-determination and establishment of a Palestinian state on the entire Palestinian land with Jerusalem as its capital.
