Senior Hamas official Musa abu-Marzouq met on Friday with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov in Moscow.
During the meeting, Abu-Marzouq said, they discussed several issues related to the latest development of the Palestinian issue.
“The discussions concentrated on the developments of the Great March of Return, which represented the tenaciousness of the Palestinians in their historical rights and that they have several choices to defend themselves,” Abu-Marzouq said.
He also said that they came through the obstacles ahead of the internal Palestinian reconciliation during the discussions and the threats by the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to take more punitive measures against Gaza.
The senior Hamas leader also said that the delegation discussed with the Russian officials the findings of the bombing that targeted Rami Hamadallah’s convoy in Gaza.
“We stressed on Hamas’ persistence to maintain the unity of the Palestinians and to push towards the success of the Palestinian reconciliation,” he said.
The delegation also explained the reason why Hamas rejects the oppressive American decisions, Abu-Marzouq said, mainly the so-called Deal of the Century.
Meanwhile, Bogdanov reiterated the firm Russian position regarding the support of Palestinian rights and keenness to develop the relationship with Hamas and the other Palestinian factions.
He also stressed on the importance of the Palestinian unity and the implementation of the Hamas-Fatah reconciliation.
The Russian official also expressed his country’s rejection to the so-called American Deal of the Century.
