Chief of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh received at his office on Sunday the Palestinian child Mohamed Ayyash, whose picture became an icon for the Great March of Return.

Ayyash is a refugee, whose grandparents were forced by the Zionist gangs out of their home in Yafa in 1948.

He appeared, while taking part in the Great March of Return, wearing a medical mask and placing onion behind it as a precaution for the Israeli tear gas.

“Your image reflects the steadfastness of the Palestinian children who have never and will never forget the right to return to their homes,” Haniyeh told the child.
