Head of Hamas Political Bureau briefed the Secretary General of Arab League, Ahmed Abu el-Gheit, about the Israeli aggression carried out against the Great March of Return.
In a phone call on Monday, Haniyeh told Abu el-Gheit that the Israeli occupation committed crimes against the unarmed protesters of the Great March of Return, who were marching peacefully towards the Gaza borders to highlight their right of return and break the decade-long Israeli siege imposed on Gaza.
Haniyeh highlighted the need to sue and hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its crimes in the International Criminal Court and discuss them at the UN General Assembly.
After the US veto at the UN Security Council to form an investigation committee and its Israeli-biased policies, Haniyeh called for forming a special international commission to investigate the Israeli massacre that took place during the Great March of Return.
On his part, Abu el-Gheit expressed his condemnation of the Israeli aggression against the unarmed peaceful protesters at the eastern Gaza borders.
He also noted that the Arab League is going to hold a meeting tomorrow to discuss the matter and issue appropriate and comprehensive decisions.
He expressed his solidarity with the Palestinian people and sent his heartfelt condolences to the martyrs' families and hoped for a speedy and full recovery for the wounded.
The two leaders agreed to keep in touch to follow up the developments and capitalize on the regional and international public opinion that has swayed in favour of the Palestinian struggle following the Israeli crimes afflicted on the innocent Gaza civilians.
