A Hamas delegation is to meet Egyptian officials in Cairo on Tuesday to discuss “several issues,” member of Hamas’ Political Bureau Mahmoud al-Zahhar said in a press release.
The meeting is set to take place two days after an Egyptian delegation departed the Gaza Strip following a five hour closed meeting with Hamas’ leader, Ismail Haniyeh, regarding the Great March of Return.
Al-Zahhar said: "The decisions that we make serve the interests of the Palestinian people."
"We study every proposal, but we only accept the one which serves our people’s interest," Al-Zahhar added, noting that the Great March of Return serves the Palestinians' interests.
He confirmed that the Palestinians achieved many goals through the March, the foremost of which is exposing the Israeli occupation's crimes against peaceful demonstrators.
He reiterated that the Palestinians' have the right to resist the Israeli occupation until they regain their fundamental rights.
