Statement issued by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas on the position of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) regarding the convention of the Palestinian National Council.

Hamas appreciates the PFLP’s position as it rejects to participate in the meeting of the Palestinian National Council without a national consensus and in contrary to all previous national agreements.

As a result we reiterate the following:

1. We highly appreciate the position of the PFLP and regard it a historic position that keeps up with its national responsibility and its commitment to ensure the progress of the Palestinian national unity.

2. We call upon the Palestinian factions and various Palestinian civil institutions and national legal figures to take a similar national stance and reject the participation in the Palestinian National Council meeting as Such participation will only deepen the internal division and pave the way for evil plans to be carried out against our just national cause.

3. We call upon the leadership of the Palestinian Authority and the Fatah movement to bear in mind the Palestinian consensus that rejects the convention of the Council and undertake immediate actions to halt such decisions.

4. Hamas affirms its full backing and support for the national reform that has been adopted and agreed upon by the previous national agreements, foremost of which is the Beirut Declaration of 2017, and the unity of the Palestinian people to achieve their goals and aspirations.
