The Islamic Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas called on all sides in Syria to not involve the Palestinian refugee camps in any of the events taking place in the region.

Spokesman of the movement, Abdul Latif al-Qanou, in a press statement on Wednesday mourned the martyrs of the Palestinian refugees residing in the Yarmouk refugee camp.

“They are refugees who have aspirations and hopes to return back to their homeland after they were brutally expelled from by the Israeli Occupation”, he said.

The Yarmouk camp has come under heavy bombardment for the past week which has led to the death of tens of Palestinian refugees.
