“Approving 'Jewish nation-state bill' by Israeli Knesset comes amidst the unabated US support of the Israeli occupation," Hamas Spokesman Abdul-Latif al-Qanou said on Wednesday.

On his Twitter account, Qanou wrote: "Passing the Jewish nation-state law proves that Israeli is an apartheid regime and its racist government seeks to annihilate the hopes and aspirations of the Palestinian people, particularly their struggle for freedom."

The Israeli Knesset is expected to pass the first reading of the 'Jewish nation-state bill' in the coming few weeks and if passed would define the Israeli occupation exclusively as "the nation-state for the Jewish people."
