Palestinian MP Ahmad Attoun has called for all Palestinians, Arab and Islamic nations to dedicate their efforts to face the Israeli plans to Judaise the holy city of Jerusalem.

In a press release, Attoun said: "The current status of Jerusalem requires an emergency plan to save what can be saved from the holy city."

He urged the Palestinians in the West Bank and the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 to maintain a constant presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque ahead of the Israeli settlers' preparations to break into the Muslim holy site, which coincides with Nakba Day.

The MP, who is a member of Hamas parliamentarian bloc, also warned against the dangers of Judaising Jerusalem as the Israeli occupation has been doing its best to distort the historical background of the city.

Regarding the Israeli authorities' decision to revoke residency of four Jerusalemites, Attoun said: "This unlawful decision is null and void as we are the original residents of this land."

He added: "The Israeli occupation is deluded into thinking that its arbitrary policies will purge the Palestinians from Jerusalem," stressing that "our people are capable of resisting the Israeli occupation and its plans to Judaise the holy city."
