Hamas blamed Israeli occupation for the blast that killed six members of its military wing, al-Qassam Brigades on Saturday evening and vowed to avenge their deaths.
A press statement released by al-Qassam Brigades on Sunday said that six of its fighters were killed in a complix security mission after revealing a large spying system planted by the Israeli occupation in Gaza.
“By sacrificing their lives, our fighters were able to protect the Palestinian people and the resistance from an eminent danger,” the Brigades said in the statement. “As a result, a large intelligence scheme set by the Israeli occupation has been thwarted.”
The Brigades added that full details of the complex security operation will be revealed to the public soon.
It held the Israeli occupation full and direct responsibility for the killing and vowed to take painful revenge.
During the funeral processions of the six al-Qassam fighters on Sunday, head of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh said that the military wing of his movement is engaged in an open battle with the Israeli occupation.
“Our fighters sacrificed their lives to thwart one of the biggest security threats that faced the Palestinian people and resistance ,” he said.
“We will retaliate hard because the loss of life from our side can’t be ignored or taken lightly,” Haniyeh vowed.
