"The latest Israeli aggression on Gaza is a failed and desperate attempt to deter the Palestinians from taking part in the Great March of Return and Breaking the Siege on the Gaza Strip," Hamas spokesperson, Hazem Qasem, said.

In a press release on Saturday evening, Qasem added, "the Palestinian people will respond to the Israeli aggression on Gaza by mass participations in the Great March of Return to demand their legitimate rights."

On Saturday, Israeli warplanes targeted agricultural land north of the Gaza Strip with 12 missiles causing considerable damage. No casulties were reported.
