Hamas denounced the Zionist settlers’ raiding of Al-Aqsa Mosque and raising the Zionist flag inside its compounds as preparations of opening the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem are underway.   

In a press release on Sunday, Hamas spokesperson, Abdel Latif al-Qanou, said “This break-in displays the Zionist arrogance while being covered by the U.S. government.”  

“Such provocative raids and chants, are an insult to the Arabs and Muslims of Palestine and desecrate the sanctity of our holy sites,” al-Qanou stressed.

He called for taking Arab and Islamic stances at all levels against the Israeli Occupation and support the Palestinians' steadfastness.

He also urged the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem to take part in the Great March of Return, escalate the Jerusalem Intifada, and defy the Israeli Occupation and its arbitrary policies towards the Palestinians.
