The death of Palestinian prisoner Aziz Oweisat inside the Israeli jails is an act of terror and clear-cut proof of the Israeli Occupation's brutality and appalling sadism towards the Palestinian people, member of Hamas Political Bureau Musa Dodeen said.

"The Israeli Occupation will pay a price for this crime, along with a string of others, sooner or later," Dodeen added.   

Oweisat recently suffered from a brain hemorrhage after he was brutally assaulted by the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) while being held in solitary confinement.

"Assassinating Oweisat is not the first crime perpetrated by the Israeli Occupation against the Palestinian prisoners, as the IPS continuously attacks the Palestinian detainees in the Israeli jails," Dodeen continued.

He confirmed that the Palestinian resistance will not stand by idly while the Israeli Occupation continues to commit blatant violations against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails contravening the international conventions.    

The Hamas leader called on the Palestinian Authority leadership to prosecute the Israeli Occupation in international courts, including the International Criminal Court.

He also urged the human rights groups to provide protection for the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails under the Geneva Conventions.
