The head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Hanyia called the Grand Sheikh of al-Azhar Ahmed el-Tayeb on Monday noon and expressed his deep thanks and appreciation for its noble deeds, including the aid sent frequently to Gaza Strip. 

The Hamas top leader hailed Al-Azhar Mosque's stance on the Palestinian cause and Jerusalem rejecting the U.S. embassy transfer. 

He considered this stance as a reflection of Al-Azhar's historic role in supporting the Palestinian cause.

He expressed his gratitude for Egypt for its constant stance in support of the Palestinian cause and the aid it sent frequently to the Gaza Strip. 

The Grand Sheikh of al-Azhar Ahmed el-Tayeb, on the other hand, reiterated Al- Azhar's constant stance in support of the Palestinians' rights and the Jerusalem issue.   

Al-Tayeb confirmed that Al-Azhar Mosque will send a new aid convoy to Gaza in the near future to alleviate the Palestinians' suffering in Gaza.
