Head of Hamas' Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh called Morocco's Prime Minister Saed el-Deen al-Othmani on Sunday evening and expressed his appreciation to Morocco's stances towards Jerusalem and its solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.

The Hamas top leader discussed with Morocco's PM the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause and the repercussions from Trump's decision to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem and recognize the holy city as the Israeli Occupation's capital, in addition to the Israeli schemes aiming to abolish the Palestinians' right to return to their homeland stressing that such developments require a unified Arab and Islamic stance.   

Haniyeh expressed his hope that Morocco, which is historically bound to the Palestinian cause and the Jerusalem issue, to play a key role to thwart the Israeli plans threating the Arab and Islamic character of Jerusalem.

He called on the Moroccan leadership to provide the Palestinians wounded in the Great March of Return with urgent medical aid following the Israeli Occupation’s violent crackdown on protesters to deter them from taking part in the March.  

He reiterated the necessity to follow up the decision of U.N. Human Rights Council to send a fact-finding mission to probe into the Israeli war crimes committed on May 14 and immediately work on ending the siege imposed by Israeli Occupation on Gaza, as well as not changing the status of the occupied Jerusalem voicing his hope for implementation of these decisions on the ground.  

Morocco's PM, on the other hand, hailed the strong relation between his country and the Palestinian people stressing Morocco’s stance in rejecting the U.S. embassy transfer to Jerusalem and the Israeli-imposed siege on Gaza. 

He reiterated the Moroccan King, government, and people's stance supporting the Palestinian people noting that he will seriously follow up the with Hamas top leader's demands.
