The member of Hamas Political Bureau Khalil al-Hayya confirmed that the Great March of Return and Breaking the Siege will continue unabated until the Palestinians achieve their goals. 

In a televised interview with Al-Aqsa on Thursday evening, al-Haya stressed that the Great March of Return exposed to the world the injustices that the Palestinian people suffered at the hands of the Israeli Occupation noting that the March aims at breaking the Gaza siege and raising the world's awareness towards the Palestinians' right to return to their homeland.  

Palestinian resistance protects Great March of Return

He reiterated the sense of unity shown while the Palestinians were protesting in the Great March of Return and when the Palestinian resistance defended its people against the Israeli aggression, which reinforced the unbreakable spirit of sacrifice and resilience. 

He noted that Hamas, along with the Palestinian people, invented a new means of popular, peaceful, and armed resistance reaffirming the Palestinians' right to use all means of resistance to defend themselves against the Israeli Occupation's injustices. 

He stressed that the Palestinian resistance will protect the Great March of Return and will safeguard the protesters, so that no one would think that the Palestinian resistance laid down its weapons or abandoned the option to defend its people against the Israeli aggression.  

National consensus

He restated that Hamas, along with the other Palestinian factions, agreed unanimously on holding the Great March of Return to send the world a message that "we are unarmed people who are suffering from the Israeli injustices."

The Hamas leader reaffirmed the Palestinian unity noting that his movement is part of the Palestinian people.

Al-Hayya expressed his astonishment at seeing some states in the U.N. Security Council that viewed the Israeli Occupation as the oppressed and turned a blind eye to the Palestinian people's suffering for more than 70 years. 

Egypt's stance on Great March of Return

Al-Hayya denied the rumors circulated on media, which claimed that Egypt demanded his movement to end the March adding, "Egypt urged us to keep the protests peaceful." 

Latest Israeli aggression

The Hamas leader indicated that the Israeli Occupation tried in the previous weeks to impose a new reality on the ground by continuing to perpetrate atrocities.

"We send the Israeli Occupation a message that it doesn’t decide the rules of engagement," he said adding, "we are not warmongers, yet we aren’t afraid of going to war." 

"The Israeli Occupation scrambled to de-escalate the fighting, and we assured the mediators that we will abide by the ceasefire deal as long as the Israeli Occupation does," he continued.

Al-Hayya hailed the Palestinian resistance's unity in defending its people against the Israeli aggression confirming that the Palestinian people would be capable of embodying a true sense of national unity if they were willing to thwart all schemes aiming to liquidate the Palestinian cause.    

The member of Hamas' Politburo stressed that "the Zionist enemy's attempts to isolate the Palestinian people from its resistance will fail."  

He demonstrated that the Palestinian resistance, including Al-Qassam Brigades, targets the Israeli Occupation army and its military sites referring to the Israeli propaganda which tries to criminalize the Palestinian resistance if a mortar hit civilian properties by mistake.   

He denied that Hamas received new proposals for a ceasefire agreement, but he noted that there are negotiations adding that once his movement receives a new proposal, it will present it to the Palestinian factions.  

He praised all counties which supported the Palestinian people; the foremost among them is Kuwait which "defends the oppressed."

He calls on the Palestinian people to take part in the Great March of Return on Friday to send the world a message that we will continue protesting until Israeli-imposed siege on Gaza is lifted and the Palestinians return to their homeland.

"As much as you flock to the borders to march peacefully, you will prove to the world that you persist on achieving your long-sought-after goals," he concluded.
