Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh on Friday evening phoned the Egyptian General Intelligence Service and presented them, the leadership and the Egyptian people his warmest congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

Haniyeh praised the recent steps taken by Egypt towards the Gaza Strip, especially the opening of the Rafah crossing during the month of Ramadan and the provision of assistance by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and the entry of the Moroccan field hospital and its solidarity delegations.

For their part, officials confirmed that the procedures for Gaza and its citizens will continue.
