Fawzi Barhoum, a spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas stated the following:
We praise our Palestinian resistance that responded to the shelling of the Israeli Occupation on the Gaza Strip early Wednesday morning. The resistance's response is a legitimate right guaranteed by international conventions and laws. Our new approach of a bomb for a bomb is to confirm that the resistance is the one who determines the rules of engagement in its own way and will not allow the enemy to terrorize our people or impose any new equations.
