A senior Hamas delegation, headed by member of Hamas Political Bureau Musa Abu Marzouq, have left the Russian capital, Moscow on Monday, where they met with Russian President’s Special Representative to the Middle East and Africa and the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.  

The delegation discussed the bilateral relations between Hamas and Russia, voiced their opinions on various regional issues, and briefed each other about the Palestinian situation, as well as discussing the latest developments concerning the internal Palestinian situation and reiterating the Movement’s constant position on the necessity to achieve the Palestinian national unity.      

Bogdanov, on the other hand, said that his country is considering inviting the Palestinian parties to the negotiation table in Moscow in order to achieve the national unity and reconciliation to unify the Palestinian representation in the face of the challenges facing the Palestinian cause.   

The Hamas delegation updated Bogdanov on the Israeli Occupation’s crimes against the Palestinians, the last among them is the targeting of the civilian protesters in the Great March of Return, and the repercussions of the Israeli aggression that could escalate into a military offensive against the Palestinian people urging Russia to play an active role in repulsing the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians and support the Palestinian people as much as it could. 

Hamas' delegation also discussed the ‘Deal of the Century’ with Bogdanov who confirmed that the United States didn’t discuss its Middle East peace plan with Moscow stressing his country’s position in support of the Palestinian people’s rights and its willingness to consider aiding Gaza to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the coastal enclave.
