The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement said on Wednesday that the Israeli targeting of Palestinian civilians prompted its military wing to immediately respond.

“The occupations’ escalation and its targeting of the peaceful Palestinian protesters, as well as the Palestinian fighters prompted immediate response,” Hamas Spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said.

Barhoum noted that the “immediate response of the Palestinian resistance to the Israeli aggression on the Palestinians proves that the Palestinian resistance is always ready to defend the Palestinian people.”

He stressed that “every silly measure taken by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians proves the failure of the Israeli policies and miscalculation of the Israeli plans.”
