Press release issued by Hamas' chief of National Relations Husam Badran
While Hamas expresses its gratitude to all Arab and international parties, particularly Egypt, for exerting effort to end the Israeli-imposed siege on the Gaza Strip and promote the national reconciliation based on partnership and unity in the face of the Zionist aggression and the so called "Deal of the Century". We also honour the sacrifices Palestinians have made for the sake of their homeland. However, and after all these tremendous efforts being taken, there remains an obstacle in the way of Palestinians, hindering them from uniting and facing the challenges they face side by side.
We in Hamas express our regret over the statements released by the Fatah leadership which reflect the negative position of the Movement towards the Great March of Return and Breaking the Siege and the sanctions imposed by the Palestinian Authority which dash the Palestinian people's hopes of freedom and dignity.
Hamas hails the people of Palestine for remaining steadfast in the face of the ongoing Israeli aggression and we urge the Fatah Movement to weigh its statements before issuing them, prioritise the Palestinians' interests in a way that meets their demands and respond positively towards the positive stances taken by Hamas in its bid to achieve the national reconciliation.
