The spokesperson of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas Fawzi Barhom stated the following:

The war of words waged by Fatah against Gaza and Hamas, which coincide with Egypt’s efforts to achieve the reconciliation, is clearly targeting Egypt’s endeavors and the national situation that is strongly involved in the popular protests to break the siege and lift the sanctions imposed on Gaza. Fatah's verbal attacks also aim to end the hopes of the Palestinian people who call for an end to the internal rift.  

Hamas will not get involved in a war of words with Fatah, but will respond positively to Egypt’s efforts to achieve the national reconciliation and unity in a way that best serves the Palestinian people’s interests.
