After arresting him arbitrarily and taking him away from his home and daughter, Ebaa', who was tearfully watching  her father being shackled with no mercy and led away by force, Ahmed started to feel pain in the neck.

He tried to see the prison's clinic's doctor over and over again. And when, he finally, saw the doctor, he only got  some painkillers mingled with the doctor's sarcasm.

Days of pain passed and increased. After a year, Ahmed's pain increased  and became  unbearable. At this moment, the doctor decided to tell him he was  suffering from neck cancer.

He was transferred to the prison's clinic. After medical examinations, he was told by the doctors they were going to remove his Larynx.

Ahmed received the news with great pain after he  learned he was not going to speak anymore. When Ahmed entered the room for surgery and before being anesthetized, one of the doctors stood before him and said while laughing: " speak! for you are not going to utter a word for the rest of your life", Ahmed raised his forefinger and said with his strangled voice: " No God but Allah, Allah is the Greatest".

Then, Ahmed lived his life in prison persistently making sure he continued education and  self-development. He was released in a swap deal, and now he is about to obtain his  bachelor's degree in political science.
