The Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas imposed sanctions on Gaza aim to pressure the Palestinian people to topple Hamas or drive the Palestinian resistance into an all-out conflict with the Israeli Occupation, member of Hamas Political Bureau Mahmoud al-Zahhar said.
In a press release, al-Zahhar confirmed that the PA has no interest in achieving the national reconciliation and ending the internal rift, as it didn’t take a step forward in the reconciliation issue.
He noted that his Movement is ready to achieve the national reconciliation on the basis of the 2011 agreement on this matter.
Regarding the options that Hamas has in case the efforts to achieve the internal reconciliation failed, the Politburo member said, “there are other sides, such as the United Nations, willing to play a role in this matter and handle it seriously.”
"The Palestinian people want to live a decent and secure life just as the other nations," al-Zahhar explained.
Al-Zahar called for the Great March of Return to continue unabated to pressure the Israeli Occupation to lift its 12-year siege on Gaza.
