Amid the ongoing efforts of Egypt and the United Nations to hammer out a ceasefire between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli Occupation, the regional and international players can overrun the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas to accomplish that, Hamas leader Musheer Al-Masri said.

In a televised interview, Al-Masri said that Egypt and the United Nations are exerting efforts aiming to make a progress in the ceasefire agreement which entails lifting the siege on the Gaza Strip  without paying a 'political price' in return.

“Since the regional and international sides are concerned about stability in the region, they can override the PA President, Mahmoud Abbas who has been impeding the endeavours made to reach a ceasefire,” A-Masri added.

Regarding the national reconciliation, the Hamas leader confirmed that movement has decided on a date for its delegation’s visit to Cairo for discussions pertaining to the national reconciliation and the ceasefire agreement.

“Hamas has extended a hand of reconciliation,” Al-Masri confirmed noting that Egypt now realizes that the PA has foiled the attempts made in this regard.

Al-Masri concluded that there is a national consensus to reach a ceasefire agreement with the Israeli Occupation in this phase in for easing the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip and finding solutions for the difficult humantarian situation in the coastal enclave.
