After signing the Oslo Accords with the Palestinian Authority, the Israeli Occupation had achieved strategic goals, above all is the PA’s recognition of the existence of the Israeli occupation, Hamas’ leader Rafat Morra said. 

In a press release, Morra confirmed that the Israeli Occupation 25 years after the Oslo Accords had gained a strong position to topple down all its commitments to the PA, including the negotiations of the interim and the final stage.

Morra explained that the Israeli occupation had utilized the PA’s recognition of it as a state to implement its plans aiming to confiscate Palestinian lands, build up new settlements, and reoccupy some of the territories from which it had withdrawn its forces. All of this is added to the continuation of intense aggressions launched against the Palestinian people.

“The Israeli Occupation is adhering to the security-concerned part of the Oslo Accords, so the PA’s security collaboration best serves the Israeli interests at the expense of the Palestinian people’s demands,” Morra added.  

The Hamas’ leader stressed that the vast majority of the Palestinian people inside and outside the occupied Palestinian territories have voiced their rejection to the Oslo Accords and its catastrophic consequences. 

He noted that the Oslo Accords and the option of negotiations had promoted the Israeli Occupation to implement its agenda aiming at liquidating the Palestinian cause amid the U.S decisions that targeted Jerusalem and Palestinian refugees.  

In response to the Oslo Accords, Morra called for supporting the option of resistance against the occupation, urging the PA to halt its security collaboration with the Israeli Occupation, end its sanctions on the Gaza Strip, and uphold the Palestinian refugee issue, including their right to return to their homeland.
