Hamas is determined to resist the occupation and defend Palestinian issue and eternal capital of Palestine, Jerusalem; it would “knock all the doors” to break the 12-year-old Israeli siege imposed on Gaza Strip, senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayyah said.
He added that the all the attempts to vanish the Palestinian identity have failed as the Palestinian people are still adherent to their principles.
Al-Hayyah said that the anniversary of signing ‘the fault of the century’, Oslo Accord coincides with September 13, and it has inflicted direct consequences leading to the Palestinian split, noting that the accord’s key terrible ramifications are recognizing the existence of the Israeli occupation and demonizing resistance.
“The Oslo Authority ]Palestinian Authority[ has fought and killed every idea resisting the occupation, including popular and peaceful resistance. This accord has been a heavy flow to the Palestinian People and their issue”, he added.
Al-Hayyah confirmed that the occupation would never retreat, but by resistance. All peoples who adopted this option has demonstrated success, clarifying that the Palestinian resistance has turned ‘freed settlements” in the Gaza Strip into cultural and historical monuments, as many institutions, schools, and hospitals were built up on these lands.
Great Return March
Al-Hayyah denied that Palestinian factions would pay “political prices” while endeavoring to break the siege the Israeli occupation imposes on the Gaza Strip since Hamas took over power through democratic elections in 2006. He also indicated that the Great Return March would continue.
The Hamas senior leader stressed that the Palestinian factions are striving to lift the blockade that Israeli occupation has been enforcing on the costal enclave for 12 years and that the 2014 ceasefire will re-enter into force, in return.
He added that the resistance is prepared to defend the Palestinian people if the Israeli occupation launches any new aggression against the strip and that the Palestinian people are entitled to use all means available to resist the occupation.
The Politburo member also stated that the occupation seeks to barter the Israeli soliders captured by Hamas for the dire humanitarian situation of Gaza, but this would never be acceptable for Hamas.
He concluded by stressing that Hamas welcomes all efforts to broker any ceasefire that meets the Palestinian resistance’s demands.
