The Hamas leader Fatahi al-Qarawi denounced the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ meeting with the former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Friday in Paris.
Al-Qarawi confirmed that the former PM of the Israeli occupation is a war criminal who had ordered committing atrocities against the Palestinian people during the 2008 Israeli aggression on Gaza and launched a large-scale settlement projects in the West Bank during his time in office.
Al-Qarawi considered that Abbas’ remarks in which he hailed Olmert an “insult” to the Palestinians whose blood was shed at the hands of Israeli Occupation Forces on the former Israeli PM’s orders.
“The PA’s President should have met the Palestinian factions’ leaders seeking national unity instead of meeting a terrorist leader who had ordered perpetrating massacres against the Palestinian people,” he added.
The Hamas leader noted that the PA’s willingness to return to the negotiation table, indoors and outdoors, with the Israeli Occupation contradicted the Palestinian national consensus, especially after the negative consequences of the option of negotiations inflicted on the Palestinian cause.
