The Head of Hamas Politburo, Ismael Hanyya received a high-level Egyptian security delegation in Gaza. The visit came under the long-standing relationship that Hamas maintains with Egypt.
The meeting was very positive and the two sides tackled several issues; the first of which was the bilateral strategic relations they reciprocate.
They also discussed the challenges facing the Gaza Strip in general and the blockade the Israeli Occupation imposes on the enclave particularly.
Hamas and the Egyptian delegation also had a talk about the Palestine reconciliation and the latter’s endeavors in this regards, referring to the previously signed agreements and understandings, especially 2011 Agreement. The meeting highlighted Hamas’ keenness to achieve unity amid the overwhelming difficulties facing the Palestinian issue: Jerusalem, refugees, and settlement issues.
The last point put up for discussion was the re-enforcement of 2014 ceasefire with the Israeli Occupation and subsequent commitments the occupation has to make.
