The speech of the Palestinian Authority’s President Mahmoud Abbas before the UN General Assembly must be based on the Palestinian people’s interests and rights, above all their right to resist the Israeli occupation and return to their homeland, Hamas leader Rafat Morra said.   

In a press release, Morra confirmed that any speech that does not highlight the Palestinian people’s struggle against the Israeli Occupation is not reflective of the Palestinians’ historical rights and constants. 

Morra added that Abbas’ speech at the UNGA should be in line with achieving the national unity and reconciliation, engaging in an internal dialogue, and lifting the punitive measures on Gaza, as well as embracing the option of resistance.

The Hamas leader stressed that the national unity is the basis needed for resisting the occupation, thwarting the ‘deal of the century’, and foiling the schemes aiming at liquidating the Palestinians’ right to go back to their homeland.
